Among the cherished items included were endearing drawings by the young pupils, artfully capturing their favorite places in Sale, a school jumper, and exclusive Slater Heelis 250th-anniversary water bottles and merchandise.

Furthermore, the capsule was enriched with local magazines featuring an illuminating profile piece on the firm, as well as a selection of newspapers from the very day of the burial, encapsulating the essence of the present moment.

The burying of the time capsule was a collaborative effort, supported by over 30 enthusiastic pupils from Brooklands Primary School, along with the dedicated community group Friends of Worthington Park.

The final resting place for the time capsule lies at the heart of Worthington Park, nestled beside the Slater Heelis bench within the picturesque Cyril Flint Garden. Anticipation builds for its grand reopening half a century from now, precisely in the year 2083.

Chris Bishop, the esteemed managing partner at Slater Heelis, was personally present to participate in the momentous burial. He expressed, “The capsule captures a real moment in time for us as a business, but also for the community. With the history of Slater Heelis dating back to 1773 and a strong 104-year presence in Sale, our firm has navigated a remarkable journey to reach where it stands today.

“I take immense pride in our trajectory and eagerly anticipate supporting the next generation of solicitors and lawyers, who we hope will joyously reopen the capsule with the school in 50 years’ time.”

Headquartered in Sale, Slater Heelis has garnered a formidable reputation for its outstanding legal services, catering to individuals and businesses throughout the UK.

The firm’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kristen Drummond, orchestrated the successful joint-campaign and attended the event with her own son, Logan. She was effusive in her praise for the school’s involvement, remarking, “It was a great experience to engage the children from Brooklands Primary School in this endeavor.

The teachers did an exemplary job of using this opportunity to educate the young minds about Sale’s history through the ages. Witnessing some of the children produce their own drawings in the style of LS Lowry, which we have proudly included in the capsule, added a delightful touch to the occasion.”

The ceremonial burial saw an enthusiastic turnout of students from the school, who wholeheartedly embraced the spirit of the event. It was an exhilarating and proud moment for all participants. Kristen Drummond further shared her excitement, stating, “We hope that whoever has the privilege of opening the capsule will savor the small yet poignant pieces of our history preserved within!”

To express gratitude for the school’s ardent involvement in the anniversary activities, Slater Heelis has generously donated a £250 cash boost to Brooklands Primary School. The funds will be utilized to enhance learning materials in the classrooms of the Year 1 students, fostering a nurturing environment for their growth and development.
