Meet Siam Kidd – the self-made millionaire who says being a slob is the secret to success.

The 37-year-old former RAF pilot typically doesn’t start his day until 11am and spends the majority of his time in his pyjamas.

Siam has absolutely no routine and does everything in his power to allocate as much time as possible to his favourite pastimes – playing computer games, watching Netflix, and flying planes.

When he does work, he does so in his underpants.

The businessman and full-time crypto trader believes that with the dawn of new technologies like AI, it’s easier than ever before for people to be successful slobs – they just have to prioritise their time efficiently.

“I’ve always been a bedbug and I’m naturally lazy” Siam from Norwich, Norfolk, told absolutelybusiness.com.

“Whenever I am applying energy into something, I’ll always try and find the most efficient route to get from A to B.

“There are times when I end up working a lot harder than most people, just so I can be lazy.

“Most days the kitchen is probably the furthest I walk to.”

Prior to finding success in business and trading, Siam was an RAF pilot for eight years.

While he enjoyed the job, he struggled with the early mornings and knew he wanted a more lucrative career.

He said: “My brain just won’t turn on for the first five hours of the day.

“I flew all over all over the world and I did love it.

“The thing that made me want to move on is you just don’t make much money in the military.

“To live the life that I actually wanted, I needed a lot more money.

“I started trading when I was 18, which is when I joined the Air Force.

“I was probably the world’s worst trader for six years.

“Every month, I blew two grand a month on the markets.

“I was living in the officer’s nest and all of your living costs are very cheap on base.

“That’s how I could afford it.

“I learned what not to do on the markets and that looked after me.

“It got to the point where I was 23, and I was driving around the base in an Aston Martin.

“So I sacrificed everything to get out of the Air Force, including my pension.”

Siam doesn’t regret taking a chance on himself but it’s been a tough journey.

Soon after leaving the RAF, he was broke as the markets took their toll on his investments.

He said: “I had young confidence and arrogance, but the markets soon humbled me.

“Within six months of leaving, I was broke. I had no job, no savings – nothing.

“I had to pay the bills so I became an ambulance 999 call handler during the day and then at nighttime, I was pulling pints in a pub as a barman.

“Eventually, I started getting into the world of business.

“I knew I could trade – I just needed money to go into my trading account.

“The first three or four business ideas or projects flopped and then lucky number three or four worked.

“I look at life like a computer game.

“When you die in a game, you don’t cry in the corner, you go, ‘Okay, reset.’”

Siam diversified his career beyond trading by becoming a gold and silver bullion dealer, a business he later sold for £50,000 in his first deal.

In later years, he set up an education community about economics, called the ‘Realistic Trader’ – which still runs today – and launched Norwich’s first floatation therapy spa.

He said: “Being a slob is the key to my success because I am always looking most efficient route to get to where I want to be.

“I outsource as much as possible.

“I think we’re living in the easiest time in human history to set up, run, grow and sell a business from scratch with no money.

“We have the entirety of human knowledge at our fingertips for the price of an internet connection.

“Now we have all of these AI models like ChatGPT that can work for us too.

“The only error people are making is a miss prioritisation of their time.

“I prioritise being efficient with my time.

“That’s how I just bought a plane a couple of weeks ago.

“Whereas [a friend of mine] will never be able to do that because he can’t be bothered to learn about crypto, the markets, or AI.”
