‘I’m homeschooling my pre-teens and teaching them TRADING so they’ll never have to work’

A homeschooling mum says her children will “never have to work a day in their lives” – because she is teaching them how to trade.

Amanda Custer started learning the ins and outs of trading four years ago to help bring in more passive income, and says she now spends just 15 minutes a day on it.

The rest of the day is spent on a relaxed approach to homeschooling duties, where she lets her children choose their own schedule – spending just two hours a day on schoolwork.

As well as their school curriculum, 38-year-old Amanda is teaching them how to get into trading so that they are reading to hit the markets when they turn 18.

“My daughters will never have to work a day in their lives if they don’t want to,” Amanda, from California, US, told Absolutely Business.

A typical day for Amanda and her three girls – Adalyn, 12, Lucille, 10, and nine-year-old Anniston – has a heavy emphasis on “freedom”, which is something she hopes to give them for life by setting them up with the financial skills.

She said: “During the week in between dance, sports, art, and enrichment classes they have complete control over when they complete their lessons.

“Homeschooling takes them less than two hours a day to complete.

“The rest of the day, they get to live with complete freedom to choose activities, riding bikes outside, beach days and so much more.”

Amanda, who now teaches other people how to trade with her company, Forex For Women, gets to be fully involved, thanks to her equally flexible schedule.

She said: “My husband and I are both entrepreneurs so we have full control over our schedules.

“I am usually up by 6:00am.

“My girls wake up around 8:00am and spend their mornings slow with breakfast or playing outside.

“I give them the freedom to complete their schoolwork at their leisure as long as it’s done before the day is over.

“Most of their day is filled with activities with other homeschooling friends whether it’s a trip to the pool, beach, museum, or a meet-up at the park.

“As for my trading schedule, I developed a system that allows me to actively place trades and manage my positions from my phone in under 15 minutes per day.“

When I got into this industry, I knew I had to create a system that made trading passive for me so that I could be a fully present mother.

“It took me three years to develop my system and this is now the same system I teach thousands of other women around the world who crave simplicity and freedom.

“My children are not live trading in the markets because they are not 18, so for now I am teaching them how to read the charts, and understand what is happening, how I enter into trade opportunities and more.

“They fully understand how to read the market and get into successful positions in a demo broker account.

“Most people think trading is difficult, but when you really look at what is happening right now in the market, it’s actually quite simple to see that the market is either going up or going down.

“I teach them that our goal isn’t to predict what is going to happen next in the market. It is something to take advantage of what is currently happening.

“I teach my girls, the same way I teach the women in Forex For Women.

“I keep it simple.”

The family’s commitment to freedom stems from the heartbreaking loss of their fourth daughter, Carsen, who suffered from severe disabilities and died in 2015 at the age of five.

Amanda said: “Because of her disabilities she spent much of her life in and out of the hospital which made it near impossible for my husband and I to have regular jobs.

“We quickly realized that regular society, with a 9-5 employer, would not work for a family like ours so we sought out ways to provide an income for our family that gave us freedom to be with our daughters 24/7.

“In 2015 we lost our oldest daughter to her disabilities and decided to travel fulltime in an RV to spend quality time with our three other special daughters.

“During this time is when we decided to begin homeschooling.

“We learned how short life is, and that freedom to be together was the biggest goal and dream for our family and our children’s future.

“You just never know what tomorrow will hold, why waste it doing something you don’t love for a paycheck?

“We believe that homeschooling our children will teach them independence, and give them a thirst for life and freedom.

“I always tell my children that their only task in life is to be happy.

“Whether that means they go to college and find a career, become a day trader or an entrepreneur, the choice is theirs and I will support them.

“I see my day trading skills as a legacy skill I can teach my children and pass onto future generations.

“My children and their children, will always have the knowledge of this skill so that they can put their money to work for them, which will allow them to ‘work’ for fun, instead of ‘working’ for a paycheck.”
