‘World’s strongest’ robot exoskeleton that can lift up to 80lbs created to help ‘ageing workforce’

A robot exoskeleton that can lift up to 80 lbs has promised to help workers with physical jobs as well as the “ageing workforce”.

The Apogee ULTRA is said to be “dynamic” and “highly adaptive”, as reported by Absolutely Business.

The exoskeleton is wearable and fits around a person’s torso, from the top of the neck to the hips.

It can reportedly help lift up to 80lbs (36kg) and provides “active walking support” to make walking a distance of about six miles (10km) feel more like five miles (8km).

German Bionic, who made the product, claims that the robot is perfect for industrial work and health care, as medical professionals may often need help lifting patients.

The Berlin-based company said the product even comes with an app that can show the user detailed performance metrics such as steps taken, weight lifted, and usage time.

The price of the product is yet to be released but the lower-tech version costs ,900 (£8,120).
